Quarterback Jaden Rashada, who placed 22nd in the ESPN 300 2023 class, surrendered to Miami on Sunday and decided to join the Hurricanes for offers from LSU, Florida, Mississippi and Texas A&M.
Rashada originally wanted to commit his father’s birthday on June 18, but postponed his announcement eight days to his grandmother’s birthday.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Rashada, who plays at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburgh, California, gives new Miami coach Mario Cristobal great support as he attempts to bring the program back to prominence.
Rashada is the second ESPN 300 recruit for Miami in cycle 2023, joining Miami Killian High School Wide receiver Robby Washington (No. 280).
After Tyler Van Dyke (2020), Jake Garcia (2021) and Jacurri Brown (2022), Rashada becomes the fourth ESPN 300 quarterback to be in Miami since 2020.
With Arch Manning (Texas) and Rashada now both off the deck, Dante Moore (No. 8) is the best non-engaged quarterback in the 2023 class.
