SUPERB. Nadal will not play Wimbledon and the Olympics

Rafael Nadal did not seem very happy after losing the semi-final at Roland Garros. When asked about his future plans, the King of Clay immediately said he was unsure of playing at Wimbledon.

Eventually, the Spanish legend announced that he would skip the championships and the Olympics to extend his career. This was Rafael’s statement:

“Hello everyone, I have decided not to participate in this year’s championships at Wimbledon and the Olympic Games in Tokyo. It’s never an easy decision to make, but after listening to my body and discussing it with my team, I understand it’s the right decision.

Rafa also didn’t seem very happy with Roland Garros’ decision to postpone the event for a week. He added:

“The fact that there were only 2 weeks between RG and Wimbledon did not facilitate the recovery of my body after the always demanding season on clay. It has been two months of great effort and the decision I am making focuses on the medium and long term.

Sports prevention of any kind of excess in my body is a very important factor at this stage of my career in trying to keep fighting for the highest level of competition and titles.

I want to send a special message to my fans all over the world, to those of the United Kingdom and Japan in particular.

The Olympic Games have always meant a lot and they have always been a priority as a sportsman, I have found the spirit that every sportsman in the world wants to live. I personally had the chance to live 3 and I had the honor to be the flag bearer of my country. ”

Rafa will now be spending some quality time with his wife and family, also enjoying the magnificent yacht he recently purchased.
