Florida Panthers forward William Lockwood will be heard on Saturday for his hit on the Minnesota Wild goalie Marc-André Fleuryannounced the NHL Department of Player Safety.
Late in the game after the hit, Fleury left Friday’s win over the Panthers with an upper-body injury.
Fleury appeared to suffer the injury in the first period when he was hit behind the net by Lockwood. Teammate Brandon Duhaime took exception to the collision and exchanged blows with Lockwood after the game. Lockwood was then helped off the ice by his teammates.
However, Fleury only left the game in the second period when he was replaced by Filip Gustavsson. The Wild ultimately defeated the Panthers 6-4.
