The PWHL’s Minnesota franchise announced the signing of forwards Kendall Coyne Schofield, Kelly Pannek and defenseman Lee Stecklein on Wednesday.
The trio of US Olympians became the first three players to sign with Minnesota’s team, and all agreed to three-year contracts. The salaries of the deals are not disclosed, according to the PWHL Players’ Association.
“With the signing of three of the best players in the world, Minnesota is cementing its foundation as a team built on excellence,” said Natalie Darwitz, PWHL Minnesota general manager. “The world-class hockey skills and leadership of Kendall, Lee and Kelly embody the level of excellence that Minnesota culture will be built on. We are very excited that they are the first three players to join Minnesota and build a championship team.”
