Aston Villa make an improved offer for Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough

Aston Villa have made a significantly improved offer for Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers after an offer was rejected earlier this week.

Unai Emery sees the striker as a priority for this window, although it has been a lengthy process between the clubs so far.

Middlesbrough are believed to want around £10 million for the 21-year-old, although Villa have not given a specific figure as they would prefer to retain a highly-rated player who was only signed in the summer.

Rogers came from Manchester City, where he was considered an excellent young player.

The player is said to view a possible move to Villa as a great opportunity. The Birmingham club’s opening bid was understood to be around half of what would prompt Middlesbrough to consider a sale.
