Coyotes place Ruzicka on waivers with the goal of terminating his contract

The Arizona coyotes placed Adam Ruzicka on waivers with the intention of terminating his contract, the team confirmed to Sportsnet on Friday.

“We have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract,” a team spokesperson told Sportsnet. “The club will have no further comment at this time.”

The publication followed a video that was shared online and has since been removed. It shows a white powder on a plate and then Ruzicka putting a bottle in her mouth. Sportsnet viewed the video but was unable to independently verify the content of the video or its source.

Ruzicka, 24, was selected in the fourth round (109th overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 2017 NHL Draft. In 114 games with the Flames, the center scored 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points.

In his first season with the Coyotes, he had no points in three games with the team. He was claimed off waivers by the Coyotes from the Flames on January 25.
