The Canadiens loan forward Joshua Roy to AHL Laval

The Montreal Canadiens borrowed forward Joshua Roy to the Laval Rocket of the AHL, the NHL team announced Wednesday.

Roy was called up earlier this month and made his NHL debut on January 13th. He has one goal and one assist in six games for the Canadiens.

The 20-year-old Roy has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 34 games for Laval this season, his first as a professional.

The Canadiens selected Roy in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Roy led the QMJHL in scoring in 2021-22 with the Sherbrooke Phoenix and was a member of Canadian teams that won gold medals at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships.
