The Sabers’ Connor Clifton was suspended two games for a hit on the Devils’ Nico Hischier


Buffalo saber defender Connor Clifton was suspended two games by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for his illegal attack New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier.

Just over four minutes before the end of the first period on Friday evening, Clifton Hischier hit high near the boards and received a match penalty after a review.

Hischier was out of the contest for the remainder of the first frame before returning in the second.

Devils head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed this that Hischier would miss the team’s next game on Sunday because of an injury caused by the hit.
