Tocchet, Bowness, Laviolette and Montgomery were named NHL All-Star coaches


Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet and Winnipeg Jets Head coach Rick Bowness will be one of four head coaches at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto, the NHL announced Sunday.

The other two coaches will be Jim Montgomery Boston Bruins and Peter Laviolette from the New York Rangers. This is the second year in a row that Montgomery will be one of the game’s four coaches.

All four coaches have their teams in first place in their divisions. Tocchet and Bowness led their Canadian-based teams to the top of the table. The Canucks are currently the No. 1 overall team in the league with 61 points, while the Jets are second in the standings with 60 points.

Tocchet will join five of his players in the game as Elias Pettersson, JT Miller, Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko were all added to the game after Saturday’s fan vote was announced.
